THE RESCUERS (Disney,1977)

This lovely painting, a digitally re-created pan background, reminds me a great deal of BAMBI artwork. THE RESCUERS was a minor masterpiece. While not groundbreaking, it has tremendous heart, great characters and the background art is far more impressive than I remembered!

Now, the background art by Thelma Witmer. I love the Disney touch as interpreting fifties style. Especially the kitchens! This cartoon is full of nifty fifties details.

If you love cartoons, you just have to love THIS cartoon! It seems inconceivable that any cartoon enthusiast would be unfamiliar with this classic Warner Brothers (Chuck Jones) film. But just in case, here it is...
